Each year, we are pleased to have a number of our program volunteers return. Week after week, they make a commitment to instruct our children in the values and doctrines of our faith. They serve as role models in the religious formation of our children by participating in parish community while encouraging and perpetuating spiritual growth and a solid prayer life. They are dedicated to, and a part of, a quality program for their family.
To accomplish this, volunteers who participate in the Religious Education program are registered, participating members of Sacred Heart Parish. They faithfully attend Mass at Sacred Heart Church on Sundays and Holy days of obligation; receive envelopes and use them on a regular basis; give their time, talent and treasure according to their ability; bring their children to all education classes and activities as required and live the mission statement of Sacred Heart Parish.
You can be a part of this ministry! Because the Religious Education program at Sacred Heart relies on our church community for our volunteers, we always have openings available in all grades for catechists, assistants and aides. All volunteers are required by the Archdiocese of Hartford to complete a VIRTUS "Protecting God's Children" seminar and a background check. Thank you.
