Youth MinistryThe Sacred Heart Youth Ministry
The new Sacred Heart Youth Ministry would like to invite interested students between 7th grade and 12th grade to get involved in their parish through community service and community with others. This opportunity is available to youth in Sacred Heart parish, and from other local parishes. This will be a fantastic opportunity to continue work in the Church after Confirmation, and also to learn the benefits of service before the Sacrament of Confirmation. We will build relationships through group activities, such as games and nights out, and will have time to get to know each other, and get to know God while still having fun!
We are in preparations to start working on the Passion Play - the Living Stations of the Cross. Rehearsals are as follows and will all be held at St. Joseph Church.
1. Feb. 25
2. March 3
3. March 11
4. March 25- Mandatory Dress Rehearsal
5. March 30th- Performance at 7:00 pm at St. Joseph Church
Each rehearsal will run from 5:00 to 7:00 (PLEASE NOTE THE NEW START TIME), and we will provide pizza for you!! After the last rehearsal, we will also have a penance service for all participants, Father Jette has a great approach to penance that we think that everybody will like.
Due to the hockey game on February 10th and the time commitment of the rehearsals, our next Youth Ministry meeting will be held on April 28th from 5:00-9:00. Stay tuned for more information on that meeting as well as other meetings through the Spring. Deadline to sign up is April 24, 2018 to be sure we book reservations for the correct number of attendees and to ensure we have enough chaperones.
Please contact Michael or Benjamin Grigoriou at email@example.com or call Elizabeth Grigoriou in the Rectory at 860-668-4246 to sign up! Visit us on Instagram at: Sacredheartyouth_ or on Twitter at SHCyouth or Facebook at SacredHeartyouthCT for updates! Permission slips will be provided at the time of sign up. In order for this to be a success, we will need a few parents to volunteer during each meeting to chaperone. Please spread the word and pray for us!
